Part of my latest collection: “Adventures of The Little Yellow Jug”

The Good Ol’ Days’s is currently not for sale - just holding onto this one for the minute. But if you’re super keen on it please let me know via email or DM and I’ll consider selling it.

This series began with a simple still life painting of a little yellow jug I'd just brought home from an antique shop. After discovering it was made by Diana Pottery in the 1950s, I couldn't help wondering where it had been and what life it had lived all these years.

Was it the favourite milk jug on the breaky table back in the 50’s? Did it hold freshly picked flowers from grannies garden before being relegated to a young teenager in the 90’s to help keep their stationary?

I’ll never know, so I made it all up.

Each painting imagines another chapter in the life of this little yellow jug, celebrating the everyday moments, homes and memories it might have been part of over the past seventy years.

The Good Ol’ days is a collection of memories from my very early teens, when I wanted to be Dolly’s next cover model (yes of course I entered, who didn’t!?). This portrayal is a far more innocent and lovely and tidy version of me than I ever was. While I did have an itty bitty bin and plenty of mix tapes carefully recorded, I don’t think I was allowed a troll (queue sad face). I loved Kylie, loved 90210, and once caught the school bus with the model who that Dolly mag is based on.

33cm x 33cm x 5.5cm - floating framed in walnut timber. This artwork has d-rings and wire and is ready to hang.

Oil on linen

Domestic Shipping is included in this price. International Shipping will incur a $70 shipping fee.
